Responsibilities

Summary

 

The Director, Risk and Compliance is responsible for leading a team and driving risk mitigation efforts through the organization, by identifying risk areas and prioritizing and establishing appropriate internal controls and protocols. The primary business vertical focus areas are health insurance, healthcare, financial services and telemarketing. This role interacts with a variety of company stakeholders and will assist in structuring processes, procedures, and technology to maximize our risk mitigation efforts.

 
Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Design, implement and lead the risk management strategy for the organization
  • Support the Executive team on embedding a culture of risk awareness
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations while applying a commercial and practical approach to risk-based solutions
  • Establish systems and metrics to monitor the status of identified risk areas
  • Develop, lead, and drive engagement of risk management team to maximize effectiveness
  • Develop and oversee internal controls and auditing systems to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and internal policies
  • Develop processes, policies, and procedures in areas deemed as high risk/exposure to the organization
  • Provide appropriate training and education to the organization around risk mitigation best practices
  • Inform senior management of best practices, regulatory and legislative changes, and their obligations under these changes
  • Manage the successful delivery of compliance projects (audits, etc.) to the organization
  • Partner with Financial Operations, Legal, Allegis Compliance/Risk Management, Human Resources, Technology Solutions, Tax, and Executive Leadership on all relevant areas of risk
  • Contact with existing customers and potential customers to communicate the company’s compliance with specific regulated areas

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Strong leadership skills, communication skills and work ethic
  • Knowledge and experience commensurate with this role
  • Practical and commercial approach to problem-solving
  • Demonstrates curiosity and creative solutioning
  • Experience leading a multi-tiered risk organization
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with and influence key stakeholders and business partners
  • Ability to drive, influence and manage change
  • Ability to evaluate and develop efficient and effective operational processes and policies
  • Ability to assess risk and identify areas of risk mitigation and improvement
  • Strong business judgment and organizational agility
  • Ability to manage many diverse projects and audit functions

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, or experience in lieu of degree requirement
  • Contract compliance experience preferred
  • 10+ years of business/financial/audit/risk/contract management experience
  • Four (4) in-office workdays per week and the option to work remote OR in office on fifth (5th) day

Compensation:

$140,000 to $185,000/annually + bonus + deferred compensation
