Responsibilities

Summary


The Insurance Licensing and Appointment Coordinator is responsible for working with a team of licensing professionals to manage the licensing and appointment activities and requirements for licensed sales agents to ensure continuous compliance with all states. In this role, you will work within the Company’s Compliance Department to maintain the company’s multi-state licensing and carrier appointment processes, support general compliance functions, and assist licensed agents with navigating tools and processes to complete related tasks.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Proactively manage and complete the insurance appointment and agency licensing processes, including but not limited to maintaining compliance with client expectations as well as applicable state laws and regulations, researching market requirements, coordinating contracting requirements, tracking appointment statuses.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for licensing, program contracting, and appointment activities or requirements.
  • Prepare and submit related program data for reporting as needed.
  • Maintain efficient and accurate record keeping using multiple client and company systems, as well as other application tools, such as Salesforce, AgentSync, NIPR, Producer Toolbox, etc.
  • Coordinate and meet deadlines for contracting activities, such as signatures, fingerprinting appointments, affidavits, certifications, continued education, and renewals with licensed agents and stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports on agent licensing statuses, identifying any issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist with monitoring and executing regulatory requirements that may impact the business.
  • Collaborate with various support teams to ensure compliance when questions or issues arise.
  • Manage and communicate changes in state regulatory requirements to impacted employees and stakeholders.
  • Perform regulatory research to determine requirements for new states, and/or new coverages as business verticals expand.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Effectively communicate (verbally and in writing), exercise appropriate interpersonal skills with employees, client contacts, and leadership as needed for contracting activities.
  • Independent, self-starter with the ability to seek opportunities to go above and beyond job requirements to achieve stated goals and objectives
  • Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SalesForce, internet research, and web based database skills
  • Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills required
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to function as a solid team player and work closely with teammates, client contacts, and leadership to create a superior employee experience


Job Requirements

  • 2 years minimum experience in healthcare, benefits, or insurance industry required
  • Knowledge of insurance industry, licensing and contracting, appointment functions, including with single and multi-carrier clients
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in healthcare, benefits, or insurance industry
